What it is

I increased learner-centered activity by 20% school wide. After gathering data during observations, I noted that teacher talk and teacher-led activities were taking up 82% of online instruction time. In order to increase learner engagement and create space for interaction within lessons, I facilitated the purchase of Nearpod in Oct 2020. I trained instructors via whole-staff and small-group professional development throughout November and December. By February our staff launched 1,300 class sessions in Nearpod.

Why it Matters

This is evidence that learner-centered instruction is one of my priorities, and that I find ways to create opportunities for learners to engage and interact.
